Description

The Buffalo Nickel is considered by many as the TRUE coin of Americana - bearing the image of New York City's Zoological Gardens infamous "Black Diamond Buffalo." Its designer, James E. Fraser, employed three different Indians as models for the design on the reverse.

Issued between 1913 and 1938 this classic piece was produced at miniscule levels when compared to today's Jefferson nickel. The average mintage of the Buffalo Nickel was a quarter of the Billions of coins made yearly today.

This 1936 Philadelphia Mint Buffalo Nickel is ranked 64th out of 64 in the entire series and 22nd overall from the Philadelphia Mint.

Each circulated Buffalo nickel is hand selected to ensure each coin has a full 4-digit date and is displayed in our custom display lens with gift wrap box.
