The Michigan State Quarter is the first of the five different State Quarters to be issued in 2004. Michigan was the 26th coin in the series as well as the start of the second half of the collection. Michigan design features a map of Michigan surrounded by the Great Lakes, together with the state nickname Great Lakes State.
