James Madison is one of the most important men to have existed and served in the History of the United States. An author of great import, penning both the United States Constitution and our Bill of Rights, he was also a notable statesman and politician who ultimately became our 4th president! In honor of his achievements the United States Mint decided to honor him in 1993 with the release of two special issue silver coins in a very limited two piece set!

Many remember the James Madison presidential dollar released in 2007 as a part of the Golden Presidential Dollar Series, but what many do not know is that this was in fact James Madison’s SECOND dollar! The 1993 Bill of Rights Silver Dollar and Half dollar were released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of one of his most important literary works...our nation's Bill of Rights! Not only does this two piece set contain the first coins minted to honor our former president, they are also one of the rarer sets released by the United States Mint during the 1990s!
