Yes, they made Three Cent as well! In 1865 the U.S. Mint introduced a new denomination to coinage - metal...and it was called the Three Cent Nickel. This Three Cent coin was the first one ever produced by the United States Mint made out of nickel. It's popularity as a metal lead to the Nickel (5) Cent piece we still use today...but in the beginning they were just Three Cent pieces made from nickel. The public quickly objected to another odd denomination, as we currently had a Cent, 2 Cent, 3 Cent and now a 5 Cent Nickel...so like the 2 Cent before it, the 3 Cent Nickel was a short lived coin (1865-1889). Each of our 3 Cent Nickels are authentic, hand selected circulated coins, and comes encapsulated in our custom protective lens.
