Silver Bars are one of the most popular collectors' items in recent years, and it is easy to see why! They combine one of the most popular precious metals today (silver), come in a shape and size that is ideal for storage in home-safes or safety deposit boxes, and they often have some of the best designs short of our own nation’s beautiful Silver Eagle!
So, when we came across some special silver bars while in California that had the same design as one of the most iconic pieces of currency in U.S. History, we had to get our hands on them!
That is right, these incredible 10 oz. silver bars have the same exact design as the 1901 $10 Bison Note!
An All-American Classic Returns: this time as a 10oz. Silver Bar!
The 1901 $10 Bison Note is one of the more iconic notes in U.S. Treasury history, and a lot of that has to do with its beautiful design! The first year of issue, these currency notes became well-known among collectors because they were circulating heavily throughout the United States during the 100Th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition!
These special 10 oz. silver bars display an incredibly detailed American Bison standing atop a mound. The Coins Silver Purity, weight, and “TEN” are also engraved into the silver bar.
Fun Fact: The Bison in the 1901 $10 Bison Note is NOT the famous ‘Black Diamond’ but is in fact a depiction of an American Bison in the Smithsonian Museum that was shot in 1996 in Montana!
