The 1956 Franklin Half Dollar is the 5th Rarest Franklin Half Dollar of all time!

It is often argued that Benjamin Franklin was the true lynchpin of the revolution. Without his efforts in obtaining the support of our biggest ally, Britain’s arch-nemesis France, the United States of America would probably not exist as we know it today! He was so influential and vital to our nation’s success that when they commissioned the Franklin Half Dollar to be minted in 1948, he held the esteemed distinction of being the only non-president to ever be featured on a circulating U.S. Mint coin!

This 1956 issue is one of the more sought after Franklin's ever released thanks to its position as the 5th RAREST Franklin ever made with a miniscule mintage of just 4,032,400. Not only is this mintage smaller than normal, it is even more sought after because they only made a Philadelphia issue Franklin that year!

Of those 4+ million coins only 13,163 are known today to exist in MS64 condition...that means just 1 in every 306 are known to exist today in this grade or higher! That is less than ½ of 1%! A True Collecting Rarity!
