This 1986 Prestige Proof Set is the first in the deluxe packaging display and also the first to have two special release coins...the Statue of Liberty Half Dollar and the .900 fine silver Statue of Liberty Dollar completing the seven coin set. The 1986 Statue of Liberty Silver Dollar and Half Dollar were issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the statue. These are the first coins to show the Statue of Liberty! The obverse of the 90% silver dollar features a view of the Statue with Ellis Island in the background. The reverse of the coin shows the statue's hand with a lit torch with "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
