This was the 2nd Proof Silver Eagle ever struck in the series at the San Francisco Mint (the 1st was the 1986 issue).

Proof Silver Eagles were struck at the San Francisco Mint from 1986 to 1992. The Philadelphia Mint struck the Proof Silver Eagle from 1993 to 2000.

2001 to present all Proof Silver Eagles are struck at the West Point Mint.
