When you think of American symbolism, two things come to mind...the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore.
In 1991, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Coin Act allowed the production of three 50th Anniversary Half Dollars to release in celebration of this national memorial. The three versions were Gold, Silver and Copper-Nickel Clad. No more than 500,000 $5 Gold coins;2,500,000 silver Dollars and finally 2,500,000 Copper-Nickel Clad were to be produced. This issue is the Uncirculated and Proof condition. This 2-piece set is still in the original government packaging. The Uncirculated coin is protected in a mylar sleeve, while the Proof is encased in special capsule. Both coins are located within a gray cardboard gift box, certificates of authenticity are located in both boxes.
