The Sacagawea Dollar is now the longest tenured Dollar issued for circulation by the US Mint in the last half decade. Prior issues lasted less than 10 years each (Eisenhower 8, SBA 3). It is now entering its 14th year of production.

Every year the US Mint makes a special presentation piece in the Sacagawea Series - a Proof struck at the San Francisco Mint. A proof is struck twice, giving it a razor sharp image, struck on highly polished dies, creating a mirror like image on the coin. But these proofs are not released separately to the public .. only as part of the yearly proof set.

Miniscule Mintages !!

While most coins released into circulation are made in the hundreds of millions, proofs are made in significantly smaller numbers - in most years the lowest quantity struck.

Each coin is encapsulated and the collection is presented in a custom box.
