About this Product

Happy Anniversary Paddington Bear!

Many of you may know that an all new feature length movie called "Paddington" was released last week. Paddington also made his grand debut in last year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Today, we are offering you the chance to give the 2008 Paddington Bear Colorized Coin a home just like the Brown family did over 50 years ago.

The Bear Himself...

If you don't know the story of Paddington, he traveled across the Atlantic from "Deep Peru" and found himself alone in Paddington Railway Station in London. Here, he is discovered by the Brown family and they take him home. He tells them his Peruvian name is too hard to pronounce and the Brown's gives him the name Paddington from where they found him. The stories follow Paddington through his adventures and mishaps in England while learning about his past.

The Charming Colorized Coin...
The 50th Anniversary Colorized Crown - coin depicts Paddington in his trademarked duffle coat, old bush hat, and battered suitcase bearing the label "Wanted on Voyage" with a note attached to his coat, which reads simply "Please look after this bear. Thank you." The Reverse is Queen Elizabeth the II. The coin is presented in a replica tin of his suitcase and accompanied by a small stuffed Paddington Bear. It is an official legal tender coin from the Isle of Man and was produced by the Pobjoy Mint in England.
