The United States Mint issued the Lincoln Coin
and Chronicles Set to offer the
best releases! This set will have all four of the 2009
Lincoln Cents and the 2009 Lincoln Commemorative.
Four 2009 Proof Lincoln Cents – These coins
feature four different designs honoring the stages of Lincoln's life:
Birthplace in Kentucky, Formative Years in Indiana, Professional Life in
Illinois, and Presidency in Washington, DC. These beautiful proofs are minted
in deep cameo proof and have a composition of 95% copper, matching the original
used in 1909. This composition will only be used in Lincoln Cents included in exclusive
2009 Proof Lincoln Silver Dollar - This is
the commemorative silver dollar released individually. The coins are limited to
a maximum mintage of 500,000. The coin sold out early in the year, and this set
was the only remaining way to purchase the coins directly from the U.S. Mint.
The last 43 immortal words that Lincoln spoke at the Gettysburg address
are inscribed on the reverse of the coin,
encircled in a wreath. Above the wreath is the inscription, United States of
America. Under the wreath is a banner with Lincoln's signature in the middle,
and the words "One Dollar" and "E Pluribus Unum" on either
side. The obverse of the coin features
and image of Abraham Lincoln with the inscriptions: "Liberty, In
God We Trust and 2009".
Extra Lincoln Materials – Also included is a
reproduced photograph of Abraham Lincoln, a reproduction of the Gettysburg
Address, and a certificate of authenticity.
