The Mt. Hood Quarter is the fifth release in the America the Beautiful National Park Quarter Series. One National Park from each State and U.S. Territory will be honored on the quarter. Like the State Quarter Series, the U.S. Mint will release 5 new designs each year. The 2010 releases include Hot Springs, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Mt. Hood.

The quarter's reverse features a view of Mount Hood with Lost Lake in the foreground. Inscriptions on the coin include MOUNT HOOD, OREGON, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Each uncirculated quarter is layered 7 times in pure platinum. This Denver Mint coin is encapsulated to protect its condition.
