The Colorado quarter was struck at the Philadelphia and the Denver Mints.The Denver Mint version of this quarter was struck in Colorado, hence making it the 2nd quarter to be struck in the actual state featured on the coin.(Pennsylvania being the first).The Colorado State Quarter design was chosen from more than 1,500 submissions to the Colorado Commemorative Quarter Advisory Commission. The design features a view of the Rocky Mountains and it includes evergreen trees and a banner bearing the inscription "Colorful Colorado."
