About this Product

Official Uncirculated Mint Sets are specially packaged by the government for sale to the collecting public. When the modern era began in 1968, the official US Mint Set release included specimens for each year's coins for every denomination issued from each US Mint.

The First Decade 1968-1977 Plus One!
We've assembled a collection of sets from the first 11 years of the modern era. Each coin still in the original US Mint poly packaging and envelope as issued over 30 years ago. A total of 124 coins: 27 cents, 22 nickels, 22 dimes, 22 quarters, 19 half dollars and 12 dollars from the Philadelphia, Denver & and San Francisco Mints.

The Hidden Secrets
During the first decade the US Mint issued a few coins that were only released in these Official Mint Sets. They were never released into circulation. As the years have passed these scarce issues have become "keys" to the series. The three coins are the 1970 D Kennedy Half Dollar and the 1973 P & D Eisenhower Dollars .. this collection has them all!

The Forgotten "S" Mint Uncirculated issues
For the last 30 years our circulating coins have come from the Philadelphia & Denver Mints. But during this first decade, the US Mint did issue a few San Francisco Mint coins for circulation: 7 Lincoln Cents from 1968 to 1974 and 3 Jefferson Nickels from 1968 to 1970 - this collection has them all!

Includes Complete Bicentennial Set - with Special Varieties
For the Bicentennial Celebration, the US Mint released 3 special designs on our Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar and Eisenhower Dollar. They were the first dual dated coins in US History - "1776 - 1976." The same design was released in 1975 & 1976 so if the coin isn't in an Official US Mint Set, you didn't have a clue what year it actually came from. Except for the Eisenhower Dollar ... here they changed the lettering type on the reverse. The 1975 coins were struck in low relief with bold lettering and the 1976 has a sharper design with more delicate lettering .. this collection has them all!
