Minted from 1856-1858 the Flying Eagle Cent depicts a flying eagle on the obverse, and a wreath surrounding the phrase "ONE CENT" on the reverse. It was first minted after the Act of February 21, 1857 that provided for the coinage of a new copper-nickel small cent.
