The final year of circulating Kennedy half dollars saw over 21 million struck at Philadelphia and another 19 ½ million struck in Denver for a combined total of 40,704,000! After they stopped striking them for circulation, their mintage numbers plummeted! Making these coins some of the rarest uncirculated issues in the entire series!

That is right, even the HIGHEST known mintage since 2002 – the 2013 issues at a combined 9.6 million – are more than 4 times rarer than their 2001 circulating counterparts!
