About this Product

The Morgan Dollar is considered by many the "True" coin of the fabled Wild West. Made out of nearly 1 full ounce of .900 pure silver from the famous Comstock Lode silver discovery. It was 1st struck in 1878 and continued until 1904 and then again for one final year in 1921.

These Morgan dollars were struck at the New Orleans Mint. The New Orleans Mint is the only Southern Mint to strike the Morgan Dollar. Its 1st year of production was in 1879 and it ended its production in 1904. The New Orleans Mint produced 24.66 % of all Morgan dollars issued. The New Orleans Morgan dollar bears the "O" Mint Mark. It can be located on the back of the coin below the Eagle...the "O" mint mark is present above the letters "D" and "O" in the word "Dollar."

These New Orleans Mint Morgan dollars are in Uncirculated condition. They have been held by a bank or a private individual since the day they were struck, never being released into circulation.

Each coin is encapsulated and presented in a custom display box.
