Design of the 2004 Wisconsin State Quarter

The 2004 Wisconsin State Quarter is the 30th release in the acclaimed 50 State Quarters Program by the United States Mint. The coin's reverse design, created by Alfred Maletsky and sculpted by Joseph Menna, features three significant elements:

  1. A cow, symbolizing Wisconsin's thriving dairy industry;
  2. A wheel of cheese and a half-gallon of milk, representing the state's status as a leading producer of dairy products;
  3. An ear of corn, celebrating Wisconsin's agricultural diversity and its importance to the nation's economy.

The coin's obverse, designed by John Flanagan, features the classic portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States.
