2021 Proof Set in NGC Certified PR70
This year (2021), the United States Mint Proof Set will have an additional coin added to its line-up (Like the 2019-W Lincoln Cents and the 2020-W Jefferson Nickels)... This time it is the 2021 Washington ‘Crossing the Delaware’ Quarter! This will be the first ‘true’ Washington Quarter released by the United States Mint since 1998! But that is not all, this set also comes with the final National Parks Quarter in the series: the 2021 Alabama Tuskegee Airmen! That is two iconic, must-have quarters from the United States Mint in the same proof set!
But wait, it gets even better! Not only do we have the new 2021 U.S Mint Proof sets in stock – our sets have been certified by the expert graders over at NGC as being in PERFECT PR70 condition! With the two new quarters in this set in certified PERFECT condition, this truly is the Must-have Proof set of 2021!
The End of One Era – and the Return of Another: The 2021 U.S. Quarters!
The Washington Quarter was released back in 1932 on the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s Birth. At the time the coin was meant to be one-year-only issue honoring our great nation’s first Commander in Chief, but due to overwhelming popularity Congress authorized the design to be continued indefinitely. The public LOVED the Washington Quarter and its simple yet beautiful design!
They struck the coin until 1998, when it was replaced with the wildly popular 50-State Quarters program from 1999 to 2009 and the National Parks series from 2010 to 2021. The Final National Park Quarter was released earlier this year and honored the Tuskegee Airmen, true-blue American heroes of the United States Army Air Force during WWII!
With the National Parks Quarter series coming to an end with Alabama’s 2021 issue, the U.S. Mint decided it was time for a return to form in regards to the coin – 2021 would see the Washington Quarter making a come-back!
Incredible new Quarter Designs honoring true American heroes
The 2021 Alabama Tuskegee Airmen quarter features a design showing a Tuskegee Airman pilot suiting up to join the fight during World War II with the Moton Field control tower in the background. In the scene the pilot looks upward with pride and confidence as two P-51 Mustangs pass overhead.
The reverse of the Tuskegee Airmen Quarter uses the same ‘Washington Bust’ we have grown to love that is featured in both the National Parks and State Quarter series.
The brand-new 2021 Washington Quarter design features General Washington himself leading his troops during the overnight Crossing of the Delaware River during the Battle of Trenton. Washington is shown standing tall with his sword raised forward as the ships of his men can be seen crossing the frozen river in the background.
The Reverse of these new coins will feature the original John Flanagan’s depiction of George Washington’s bust from the original 1932 quarter!
