The Peace Dollar is America's last circulating "Silver" dollar. It was issued to commemorate the declaration of Peace after World War I. The Peace dollar has 2 very unique inscriptions...On the Obverse, the standard inscription "In God We Trust" is actually written "In God We Trvst" with the "V" for Victory. Then the second, on the reverse, the simple inscription "Peace", which is where it's name derives. It was 1st struck in 1921 and continued until 1928 and then again in 1934 and 1935.

This Peace dollar was struck at the San Francisco Mint. The San Francisco Mint Peace dollars are considered the finest examples issued in the series. Like the Philadelphia Mint, the San Francisco Mint issued coins though out the entire period - 1921 until 1935. The San Francisco Mint produced 38% of all Peace dollars issued. The San Francisco Peace dollar bears the"S" Mint Mark. It can be can be determined by looking on the back of the coin below the word"One". The "S" mint mark is present above the letters "O" and "N" in the word "One".
