1953 Franklin Half Dollar - San Francisco - NGC 66

The Franklin Half Dollar is a beautiful coin that truly represents one of the most influential members of our great Nation’s Founding Fathers.

The Franklin Half Dollar series was struck from 1948 to 1963 -- and over that timespan they would strike a grand total of 35 uncirculated coins.

16 from the Philadelphia Mint, 14 from Denver, and just 5 from the San Francisco Mint.

Their low mintage numbers and relative scarcity today have made those S-Mint beauties some of the hardest to find today for collectors.

The 1953-S is the 2nd rarest of the 5 S-Mint coins with a total mintage of 4,148,000
