Kennedy Half Dollar was commissioned to honor one of our most iconic presidents: John F. Kennedy. This one of a kind Kennedy Half Dollar was minted at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints and had an exclusive design only produced for circulation in 1964! This special half dollar had a unique design known as the "Accented Hair,” which was quickly retired from circulating Kennedy Half Dollars at the request of his wife, Jacky O'!
Not only does this half dollar have a special design used for only the 1964 mintage, it's also the ONLY 90% silver Kennedy Half Dollar ever released for circulation by the United States Mint.
