The Kennedy Half Dollar is one of America's most popular coins - so popular that even though the US Mint hasn't released one into circulation in 10 years, they still strike one.

If you ask Kennedy Collectors what is the "Rarest" Kennedy Half Dollar you may be surprised at the answer. Some will say the Satin Finish special releases available only in Mint Sets between 2005 to 2010. Others will say Proofs, others the Silver Proofs - all of them were made with extremely small mintage figures. But the King is a special issue made in 1998 and only sold as part of a 2-coin collection with the Silver Dollar made to commemorate his brother Robert F Kennedy.

With typical mintages for the P & D issues placed into circulation at 20 to 30 million coins it's easy to see why the above coins would be possibilities with the lowest of each type at 500,000 coins or less.
