About this Product

The United States America the Beautiful Quarter Program

The 2010 Hot Spings Quarter is the first coin in the United States America the Beautiful Quarter Series. The series began in 2010 and honors one national park from each of the 50 States as well as Washington D.C. and the five territories.

This first year of releases will include: Hot Springs, Arkansas; Yellowstone, Wyoming; Yosemite, California; Grand Canyon, Arizona; Mount Hood, Oregon.

There will be 5 Quarters released each year. Like the State Quarters, each quarter will be minted from the Philadelphia and the Denver Mint. The obverse design showing George Washington remains unchanged, while the reverse design reflects the National Park that is being honored.

Hot Springs, located in the state of Arkansas, has the distinction of being the first land set aside by the federal government for public use. That occurred on April 20, 1832.

The quarter's reverse features the park's headquarters building with the National Park Service emblem to the right - all are in the background. The park's fountain is in the foreground.

This is the Denver Minted, uncirculated quarter. It will be encapsulated to protect its condition.
