One of the Rarest Burnished Silver Eagles Ever Made
The Silver Eagle is currently the #1 silver dollar in the world today, and it's easy to see why! Alongside it's iconic and beautiful design the Silver Eagle also hits what we like to call the Silver Dollar Trifecta ... it's the largest silver dollar ever minted by the United States (40.6 mm), our purest silver dollar (.9993 silver), and our heaviest (31.101 grams)!
In 2015, we saw the regular issue Silver Eagle mintage total come up just shy of 50 million. That is up almost 15 million from just a few years ago! With more Silver Eagles being minted than ever before, the collector's focus is shifting towards the rarer "types" of Silver Eagles released each year. The rarest form of Silver Eagle was released in 2015 - the special Burnished finish Silver Eagles from the West Point Mint (also known as "Satin Finish" Silver Eagles).

With the United States Mint Silver Eagle program continuing to grow each year, it has solidified its position as the true leader in silver bullion coins. Unlike the uncirculated coins released each year, the Burnished Silver Eagles are struck in extremely limited numbers. In fact, with a mintage of just 200,016 the 2015 Burnished Silver Eagle is three times rarer than the years already scarce Proof Silver Eagle (696,000)!
When you compare the mintages of the uncirculated Silver Eagles and their Burnished counterparts, it becomes clear that the Burnished coins are a true rarity and an absolute MUST for any Silver Eagle collection!
