A True Collecting Rarity – the 2021 ‘Emergency Issue’ Silver Eagles from San Francisco
The Silver Eagle holds a special place in every collection because it has one of the most beautiful coinage designs ever produced! The design is a true classic that first appeared on Silver Half Dollars from 1916-1947. In addition to this special design, it also hits our Silver Dollar Tri-fecta: it is the largest, heaviest, and purest silver coin in U.S. history.
Due to the circumstances of the last 14 months, the United States Mint at West Point has needed to be closed for cleaning periodically, and while cleaning they stop all production of coins for a short time. While the West Point Mint was out of commission, the San Francisco Mint stepped up & continued to produce the 2021 Type 2 Uncirculated silver eagles to help meet the ever-increasing collector demand!
– During this time, they struck only 1,000,000 Type 2 Uncirculated Silver Eagles –
That makes this 2021 San Francisco Mint issue the one of the rarest silver eagle of all-time!
A Brand-New Look for an All-time Classic – The new ‘Eagle Landing’ Design
The American Silver Eagle has had the same design since it was first struck in 1986, so when the U.S. Mint announced last year that they would be changing the design for the first time ever – the world took notice!
This new Silver Eagle is the first of its kind, making it the must-have coin of the next decade! Firsts always hold a special place in any collection--let alone one as long running and prestigious as the American Silver Eagle!
The 2021 ‘Type 2’ Silver Eagle will have a brand-new reverse design featuring an incredibly detailed bald eagle, a bird synonymous with freedom, with an oak branch, symbolizing the strength of our nation, clutched between its talons as it descends to land in its nest! The obverse of the coin features an updated and enhanced version of the original Adolph A. Weinman rendition of our very own Lady Liberty as she strides forward enveloped in the folds of the American Flag!
This Emergency Silver Eagle is from the San Francisco Mint and is in stunning Near-Perfect MS69 condition in the NGC Eagle Core holder!
