This is a Mercury Dime in pure .900 Silver. It was released between the years of 1916 through 1945. Even though it is most commonly known as the Mercury Dime, it also has been known to be called a "Winged Liberty Head" dime. This is due in reference to the image on the coin that is in fact one of a "Liberty." This illustration or image is of a "Liberty" with a winged cap upon it's head.
