While we were in California for the Long Beach Coin Show, we found a massive hoard of wheat cents in 50-count rolls that had been sealed away for decades, and their condition was too good to pass up.

It's hard to believe that the last copper cent was issued by the U.S. Mint 40 years ago in 1982. On top of that, the last wheat cent over 64 years ago in 1958.


The massive treasure trove of wheat cent rolls we found was truly breathtaking -- each of these rolls of wheat cents were in beautiful collector's quality circulated condition despite being well over 60 years old.

Did You Know? Today, the value of the copper in cents is much more valuable than their denomination, so much so that Congress had to pass a law making it illegal to melt copper U.S. cents in order to stop the melt-offs.
