1991 - 1995 World War II 50th Anniversary 2 piece Collection - Uncirculated

Today is a very special anniversary… on this day more than 75 years ago, over 156,000 brave men would storm the beaches of Normandy, France in one of the largest amphibian military assaults in world history: D-Day. It was their courage and sacrifice that helped bring an end to World War II, one of the bloodiest eras in all of human history. In honor of their memory, we are bringing back a rare 2pc. Collection from the U.S. Mint that honors and immortalizes these American Heroes: the 1993 WWII 2pc. Uncirculated set!

This collection contains one 1993 WWII Half Dollar and one 1993 WWII Silver Dollar in rare Uncirculated condition directly from the United States Mint. These two releases honor the 50th anniversary of the United States’ involvement in World War II, with each piece paying respect to the two of the three main theatres of war: The Pacific and Europe itself.

The Half Dollar is from the Denver Mint and has an obverse that features three individual soldiers serving in different branches of the military. The reverse of this coin features a soldier from the Pacific Theater engaging in the island-hopping that defined the campaign.

The 1993 Proof Silver Dollar’s obverse depicts the iconic scene of the soldier charging up out of the water and onto the shores of Normandy, France. The Reverse of this special silver dollar displays the shoulder-sleeve insignia of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force alongside a quote from General Dwight D. Eisenhower:

“I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!”
