2010 - Native American-Sacagawea P & D Dollars

Will this 2nd Year issue be the KEY to the series

The 2010 Golden Dollar has just been released, and I have to give credit to the US Mint designers- engravers ... this years coin looks great!

The reverse shows the Hiawatha Belt, which is a visual record of the creation of the Haudenosaunee or Iroquois Confederacy. The central figures on the belt, the Great White Pine, represents the Onondaga Nation. The four squares represent the Mohawk, Oneida, Cayuga, and Seneca Nations. The Belt encircles a bundle of five arrows to symbolize the strength and unity of the Confederacy, while the obverse has the standard image of Sacagawea. Remember, this is the 2nd year in the series with Edge Lettering mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

A look back at the initial Sacagawea series, the 2001, also a 2nd year coin, is currently one of the real KEYS to the entire series .. the P & D Mint mintages were a fraction of the 1st year 2000 coins and the Proof - S Mint 2001 is still the Rarest and most valuable to date.

WHY ... I guess the easiest way to explain it is the hype of the 1st year of issue is gone. Everyone loves to have the 1st .. and we agree with the principle of having the 1st because one of the key components to collecting is popularity .. and the 1st has it. BUT that leaves the #2 as a potential KEY based on how many were made.

We have them available in a 20 coin Custom Roll, each with 10 P and 10 D Mint issues in Uncirculated condition presented in our custom separator tube
