The New Silver Krugerrand Has Finally Arrived! Presenting the 2022 1oz issue!
The gold Krugerrand is one of the most recognizable bullions coins ever made, perhaps only second to our stunning Gold Eagle. This coin was so incredibly popular the world over that for the 50th anniversary of the South African Mint, they decided to strike the first-ever Silver Krugerrand! Starting in 2017, these 1oz silver Krugerrands were so unique that they were considered the perfect addition to any collection – and as a result they have taken collecting by storm!
We are proud to announce the arrival of the newest issue in the Silver Krugerrand series, the 2022!
The 6th Ever 1oz Silver Krugerrand!
The first gold Krugerrand was struck in 1967 by the South African Mint and was so popular and used so frequently that it became a staple of international trade and collecting! In fact, this coin was so incredibly popular that it was the ONLY bullion coin offered by the South African Mint for over 50 years! After striking several unique 50th anniversary pieces in 2017, they began striking the 1oz silver Krugerrands in brilliant uncirculated condition starting in 2018.
These 2022 issues are the 6th coin in the series and feature the same stunning design as the gold bullion pieces and the 1oz silver before it. The Krugerrand’s design features a Springbok Antelope, the national animal of South Africa, in the savannah. Inscriptions of the year of issue, face value, and silver weight are also visible. The reverse of these coins features the portrait of Paul Kruger, the first president of South Africa and a national hero, alongside the inscriptions “Suid-Afrika” in Afrikaans and “South Africa” in English.
Did You Know? Paul Kruger was the 1st and last president of the “Boer Republic” in South Africa, and was a key player in earning the South African nation’s independence from its European overlords!
