About this Product
The 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver Set

This past May, the United States Mint released a special set commemorating one of the greatest Presidents the United States had ever seen: Franklin D. Roosevelt. The 32nd President of the United States is well known for many reasons, but what he has become synonymous with is his fight to conquer Polio. In honor of the 75th Anniversary of the March of Dimes, the United States Mint released the 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver Set, a set that was sold out at the Mint in just four days!

The Beginning of the March of Dimes

Roosevelt was a survivor of polio himself, which had left him paralyzed from the waist down. Whether from his personal experience or his known love of children, FDR founded the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis in 1938. The organization was integral to the treatment of patients and later the eradication of Polio altogether in both North America and the world over. After defeating their initial nemesis in Polio, the organization re-focused its efforts towards protecting and serving both mothers and their infant children; the newly re-focused NFIP changed their name several times over the next few years, finally becoming the Iconic "March of Dimes" we know today. After playing such an integral role in founding the organization, the United States Mint honored the former commander-in-chief by releasing the 2015 March of Dimes set on the 75th Anniversary of their founding.

A Special Set of Firsts!

This set is a monster! It has not one, not two, but THREE U.S. Mint firsts in one single collection!

First off, you get the 2015 March of Dimes Proof Silver Dollar. This large $1 coin is made of .900 Silver and is the same size as a vintage silver dollar. The obverse (heads) side of the coin bears the profiles of both Franklin. D. Roosevelt and Dr. Jonas Salk, two of the most influential individuals involved with combating polio and other childhood diseases. The obverse (tails) design depicts a sleeping baby resting in the hands of their parent, calling to mind the foundations mission statement to ensuring the health of babies everywhere. Second, you get the absolutely stunning 2015 Roosevelt Silver Proof Dime. This Proof Dime is the FIRST EVER proof dime ever produced by the West Point mint, and it is a beauty!

And best of all: you get the absolute sleeper coin of the year, the 2015 Roosevelt Silver Reverse Proof Dime! This is the first non-dollar denomination to be produced in Reverse Proof condition!

The Mintage Figures Don't Lie

The 2015 Proof Silver Dollar within the package has a total mintage of only 500,000, but that is not the important piece inside of this U.S. Mint First trio. It is the two Silver Dimes, both the Philadelphia Reverse Proof and the West Point Proof, that have collectors in a frenzy. The reason for all this commotion in simple: these two special, special coins were released ONLY within the 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver set!

With a total mintage of just 75,000 this set in its original Government packaging is going to be an absolute rarity among collectors, with only a fraction of coin collectors lucky enough to be given the opportunity to own such a fantastic collection! Once you take into account how many of these sets in Original Government Packaging have been destroyed just to obtain these two coins, and word from our vendors is that it is A HUGE NUMBER, and one can see the writing on the wall.

The Mint knocked the ball out of the park with this one and it is sure to be the cornerstone of ANY collector's personal collection. Our limited supply of 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver Sets will not last long, so hurry today and don't miss a chance to own one of the most iconic "U.S. Mint First" Sets ever to be released!
